Our Committee
The JCR committee is tasked with representing the combined undergraduate and graduate body of Harris Manchester. At our college, all members of the MCR are also members of the JCR. Committee members are elected from Hilary Term to Michaelmas Term of the following academic year. We’re here to represent your views, address your concerns and organise great events you’re interested in, so don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Maxwell Drew
Hi, I’m Max, and my role as president straddles the two tasks of representing student needs to college and the wider university and overseeing the day-to-day running of the JCR. To these ends, I do everything from chairing JCR meetings to making myself as available as I can to members of the college community. I can be regularly found at formal, the upper gallery of the library, and hanging around in the JCR, but if you can’t get hold of me at any of those venues then just drop me a line, always happy to talk.
Wong Yi Hao
Hello! As Secretary, my role is to be an enabler for the rest of the committee, making sure they can go about their duties without having to worry about administrative hiccups or procedural technicalities. On top of managing official records and correspondence behind the scenes, I am also your point of contact for resolving any disputes about the JCR's services or constitutional duties. When I was elected, I promised to provide standards and synchronisation for the student body, and I intend to deliver by means of prompt updates about College life, accessible explainers for JCR processes and decisions, and by always being available for any concerns or queries. I am always around in College for a quick catch-up and I look forward to seeing you at our termly meetings!
Gabriel Kaufmann

Navigating through (college) climate change, we, Umut and Johanna, want to introduce ourselves as your current environment officers. Not only do we intend to create a more sustainable and environmentally friendly atmosphere in college, we plan to do so through social events and commutative commitment—such as a clothes swap and the instigation of reusable dishes. If you have any ideas or worries or simply want to chat, you are more than welcome to participate in events and contact us directly.
